Take me back.

A poem, a prayer, and a plea.

Two weeks ago I was in México, waking up to la luna y las mareas. (« Favorite song alert.) I had the wind at my window and the waves whispered me to sleep.

Now, I’m back home — tripping over piles of laundry, checking emails for mounting bills, and wishing I could will dinner to appear at the flick of my finger tips.

I can’t help but think about how this isn’t the life I signed up for there is magic in the mundane. I’m no longer waking up to the beach in my backyard . . . but, today, I watched my kids roll with laughter at the sight of bubbles lifting into the sky, and I swear it melted my frozen heart . . . a little.

I don’t know where you are, or how life is, or what circumstances you may be fighting or finding yourself in. I promise, my hard days go deeper than laundry piles and bills and meal-prep fatigue. . . but I hope everything turns out perfectly you find ways to smile through your days. Tomorrow, even.

As a new week turns over, might also gratitude and delight for even the smallest of blessings.

A poem.

Take me back
to the life I dreamed of,
where my soul sings
more than it sighs.

Take me back to paradise
to perfect — it’s that place
in my heart that holds
the people I love.

A prayer.

God of another week unfolding. Hold us in our hurry and haste. Come to us in our discontent. Meet us in the mundane. Draw us deeper than all distraction. Tune our hearts to see You, to sing Your praise. Paradise is wherever You are, God. We know this. Now help us know this.

A plea.

A personal plea — I’ve been receiving so many messages in the last few weeks about how Let There Be Art has touched and is touching so many of you. It would mean so much to me if each of you could help share your love of LTBA with others by leaving ratings and reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.

It encourages me to hear when LTBA touches your heart. But, it will encourage others out there in the big, wide world to hear about how LTBA has touched your heart.

It’s also really fun to look over reviews and see them all listed in one spot — kind of like a yearbook…everyone signing: I was here. This moment marked me. This mattered.

Review: Amazon

Review: Goodreads

Hoping to share more of what I’ve been in to up in my next letter or so. Grateful for every single one of you.

All,
Rachel ♡
