I’d go to the Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband and daughter. It’s heaven on earth for me. And when the good Lord takes me home one day, that’s where I want to be released. I pray you are well and that you keep on writing!

I can definitely relate to this! I barely wrote anything for 1.5 years because all my creative energy was being poured into, melodramatic as it sounds (but actually), surviving and keeping my kids alive. Adrie Garrison from Exhale Creativity shared some words with me last year, on the tail end of it, that were so encouraging to me, “Sometimes you’re living the material.” I haven’t been able to find the right words for all of that period yet--of course--but she was right. Looking back on that time, I see so much I want to share... eventually... and it’s okay to give myself the space to do that. Just want to share that with you. 💕

If I could go anywhere to watch the moon this week, I’d go 15 hours away, to the Maritimes in Eastern Canada where my in-laws still live. The place where, my husband tells me, you don’t really even have to drive to anywhere to see a sky littered with light. We haven’t been back in over 4 years.

Any old backroad where you can see the stars suits me fine with someone I love at my side

Quiet and peaceful and so many stars

I’d go to the beach. The last time I truly felt at home in my body was at the beach. I live in the mountains, and they are gorgeous, but there’s something about the ocean. The sound of the waves and the vastness of it that makes you feel small in the most comforting way. I want to feel at home again.

I would go to Santorini, Greece! It is on my bucket list of places to travel. I would love to see the crystal clear blue waters in the daytime before & after I gaze upon the night skies of God's creation in the evening hours. I can feel a wave of relaxation just thinking about it!

Such a fun question! I think I would love to see the full moon by the ocean. (I actually am not sure I've ever watched a full moon by the ocean!) We live in the "middle of nowhere" with no light pollution or city lights in sight (not even a yard lamp), so we can enjoy a clear dark sky every night, but the ocean would be a beautiful sight to see under a full moon.

If I could go anywhere to watch the stars I'd go back to my childhood home, pull out some chairs, call some friends and star gaze while chatting about God's creation and let our minds wonder.

I think of my parents driveway. I live in a metropolitan area and the drive home at dusk transports me to another time and world when I arrive. I’m 9 years old, absorbed by the peace of nothing but a vast and warm embrace of summer humidity and lights above me. I’m home with God and my parents and it’s well within me. At 9, it was the first time I experienced Genesis 1 for myself and it continues to romance my being.

I would go wherever my youngest daughter is. I do not know where she is, but that is where I want to be, with her, under the moon.

I would go to the beach, somewhere on the Atlantic coast so that I could watch the moon rise in all her glory. As she rises in the sky, I’m once again struck dumb at the beauty of a full moon in the sky and a full moon shining on the surface of the water. Just seeing the scene in my mind’s eye gives me a sense of awe and peace.
